Vince wanted him however he turned down Vince's offer because he is a born again christian who wants to spend most of his time at home. the wwe has to busy of a schedule and he doesn't want to tour that long. which coincedently is why christian went to TNA. Answer July 16, 2008
Vince has never offered Sting a contract. Sting being a born again Christian has nothing to do with it. There are several of the wrestlers that are born again Christians that travel and work for WWE. Sting isn't even with TNA full time.
Sting was never with WWE to begin with. He once said back in 2001 or 2002 that he would not go because of his Christian Beliefs and the storylines that were going on in WWE at the time he could not accept due to his beliefs.
Answer
Steve Borden, aka "Sting" has never wrestled for the WWF/E. He and Vince McMahon, Jr. are on excellent terms, and he is friends with many of the wrestlers in the WWE locker room.
Sting's Christian beliefs have kept him away from the WWE, especially during the "Attitude" Era, when Sting was at his height of popularity. His beliefs, however, are not what keeps him from signing with the WWE. Michael Hickenbottom, aka "Shawn Michaels" is also a very devout Christian, he simply abstains from angles that go against his beliefs.
Sting turned 50 on March 20, 2009. His career as a wrestler is very likely at it's close, as few wrestlers continue past that milestone. Notable exception being Ric Flair. I'd not be surprised to see Sting make a few cameo appearences on WWE in the near future, as his TNA contract is near it's expiration date, however, don't count on him ever being on the roster in any real wrestling role.
